Hi all,
At the Interleague meeting in the Bonnie Earl this week, those present agreed to set up a selection committee which consisted of Raymond Mackenzie, Neill Simpson and Peter Fyffe.
In no particular order, the Elgin A team the committee have picked is as follows;

Martin Hendry is now picking his B team and the players who remain will form a C team. If anyone else wants to get their name down, please do so.
Thanks,
Brad.
REMAINING PLAYERS: 1) Andy Duncan 2) Peter Carey 3) Cammeron Spence 4) Kieran Wood 5) Kriss Bradshaw 6) Garey Steele 7) Charlie Secchiero

Yes, I am delighted that we could get a selection committee together and pick a team that is capable of doing really well.
A big thanks to Raymond for taking on the captaincy and to all the guys for coming together to make it happen!

Firstly Fyffee, Neill and myself would like to thank all the players who made themselves avaliable for selection in the 'A' team. Its never easy to make these decisions particularly when you look at the quality of players we have in the EDPL.
I also agree with Adam that it's great that we all got togther and sorted out a team where everyone was avaliable. I think this emphasises the progress that has been made in Elgin pool over the last year or so with us all getting together more for tour events etc. Brad has also pushed for this and deserves a lot of credit for that.
Lastly on a personal note I have to say that I am to put it mildly 'well chuffed' to be appointed as captain of this team.
Now all the niceties are out of the way ........ lets get down to some practice !!! ;D
Cheers

Sorting out now, give me a few days! Can't get hold of some of the players right now.
95% certain we've got enough for a D team, in which case Martin Hendry Jr will captain...

Hopefully we'll have a team to give you all a good match! Just waiting to hear back from a few folk, will hopefully have it sorted in the next few days. Looks like there's a nice round number for four teams though!
Perhaps a pre-tournament 4 team play off in Elgin is on the cards?

Where, with the exception of the bowl can we find a good venue with two tables......tennants? earl?

What about inviting Keith, Forres and Lossie league selects too?

Tennants would be best bet I'd think! Can't see what's going on at the Earl due to tables being in different rooms.

Doesn't look like anyone is willing to captain a D team. I've asked Brad Bruce to be our C team 8th man. If anyone does want to take a D team down, please speak up as soon as possible!

Fees = £450 per team. Please arrange to pay your team captains as soon as possible. The event is first come first served so don't leave it 'til the last minute!
Cheers!

Is there any chance of getting a date for a pre interleague team tourney? I propose we play it at the bowl, get the 5 tables on the go and just play the trials for each teams singles place at the same time. 4 possible dates below:
Sat 22 Oct Sat 29 Oct Sat 5 Nov Sat 12 Nov
If we can agree on a date quickly we may be able to entice a few more teams to play...

Can each team captain confirm they can manage 5th Nov? I will then try and get a couple of other teams from the area to play...

With regard to the singles as stated above Woody has already declared himself out for that, Alan Duncan also is not interested in the singles . In fact Alan feels quite strongly that rather than play singles at what is at then end of the day a team event, the team event matches should be played over 3 sets. I kind of feel the same way to be honest but I will support and play in a singles qualifier if that's what is required. Will find out from everyone else and get back to you's

Yes. It would have been nice to have been asked about having a singles comp this year! I'll play as it's been organised but would certainly prefer a strictly team event too tbh...
