Just read this from the SPA promoter on their website
'On one other note, I had a call today from Elgin asking if they could run BB tournaments in their area, as if we would say no, so maybe not is all lost there as well.'
Would anyone like to shed some light on this for me ? I mean was the call from 'Elgin' or from an individual ?
And can I also ask why anyone would have to ask permission from the SPA to run a BB tournament ?
Just curious !

I rang SPA as an individual (not on behalf of the league) to ask how we would go about playing competitions against Inverness and Nairn. Bottom line is they would have to be played to BB rules but they can play without compromising the 'choice' policy.
Just an idea at the moment but quite a few players approached me after the meeting to ask why we don't run a few comps to BB rules so people can have a shot at them and also the chance to play against the Inverness league which currently has the World Singles Champ amongst their ranks.
Again, this is not a league matter, but could be a weekend of pool with other local teams involved for anyone who fancies a shot at it.

Ok Brad, thanks that clears it up, but the post on the SPA site gives the impression that its 'Elgin' that is asking. Anyhow, none of my business as it happens then ! lol
