Hi folks,
On the scrounge for prizes for the upcoming raffles I intend to hold at Region 4 2011 tour events 1 and 2. I have had a think and thought about what people may be able to contribute. See below:
Andrew C and Martin H = Old barrels, grain and water
Ben R, Garey S, Stuart C, woody, Alan D = some timber/wood etc
Brad = some ammunition
Ray Mack = a chair
Me = stationary
Tony M = some sheets or blankets
Not sure how much all of this could raise or what we can do with all of this stuff yet but I think a small raft is a possibility.
Cheers and all the best for 2011.
Adam.

I have currently had pledges of prizes to be donated by the following people:
Martin Hendry
Gary Simpson
Adam Macleod
Brad Wight
We'll need more than that to run a raffle though! Also, everything is drink apart from one item! I'll need to know if this is a goer for Event 1 by Thursday. Therefore, if you intend to donate something then let me know before then.
If we can't generate enough prizes to make it worthwhile for Event 1, I'll leave it until Event 2 in order that we have more time to drum up some more prizes.

I will be only too happy to donate a raffle prize........not sure I can stretch to a chair though ! Its tricky to come up with an original idea for prizes other than booze or biscuits. Will have a think about it .

Update
I have currently had pledges of prizes to be donated by the following people:
Martin Hendry = 2
Gary Simpson = 2
Adam Macleod = 2
Brad Wight = 1
Adam Wood = ?
Ray Mack = ?
Everything is drink apart from one item so far! I'll need to know if this is a goer for Event 1 by Thursday. Therefore, if you intend to donate something then let me know before then.
I reckon we'll need 10 - 15 prizes to make it worth £1 a strip. Thoughts on that anyone?
If we can't generate enough prizes to make it worthwhile for Event 1, I'll leave it until Event 2 in order that we have more time to drum up some more prizes.

1:21 i think on the big 8ft table though much harder to "run" around haha sure Adam Macleod will beat it having 4 hours to do so once i left haha. Good day for raising a little money, every frame myself adam and adam played against a junior we had to pay a pound if we lost. Adam Wood lost once before i left but im sure there has been a few more since, and every frame the seniors played against each other the loser put a pound to the pot.

1:21 doesn't sound very safe! On the big table this was a very respectable effort. I managed to beat with my last shot however with a 1.18. The cue will be donated as a prize for the adults tour raffle. I would have felt bad about this but reckon only 2 juniors had a go at the speed pool all day!! Thought the day went really well and in total we managed £40 for the speed pool/£1 challenges. I have signed the completed forms for the 'poolathon' participants so that they can collect monies this week. I will calculate the final total for the boys funds after the junior event on 16/01/11. I guarentee that folk will be ASTOUNDED at how much these young lads have raised. For next year, I will be running a similar event but i will be requesting that all Region 4 international players attend. The reason being that it was nice for the younger lads to meet and play against the senior players whilst engaging in a bit of friendly banter. Well done to all those that came down to support!

That sounds great Stuart. Thank you very much for doing that! My car is still goosed and am scrounging lifts to and from work til my new one arrives. Can you sort that out? I have been saying to all those that are donating prizes that they should come down to Bowl 2000 for 1100 before tour event 1 on 15/01/11. This way we can sort out the raffle before the pool starts and folk can get a hit about. That ok with you all?
