Hello folks, I am delighted to announce details of this years SEPF Scottish Singles. As you can see on the attached flyer the tournament will take place in Kirkcaldy over 2 days - 24/25 Oct. Qualification for this will be linked to our tour but there are avenues in for other players. The top 8 players after 2 events will automatically qualify for the Scottish Singles, the entry fee for these players will be £25. If a player in the top 8 cannot accept their place it will pass down the ranking list accordingly. I will also run local qualifiers for this. These will cost £5 to enter. Players who are successful in qualifying this way will pay a further £5 and will enter the tournament a round before the top 8 qualifiers. Any questions, please ask. Adam. BRAD - Some guys may not have powerpoint to download the flyer. Can you post it here like you did with the tour flyer? Not sure how to do it! - EDIT BY BRAD: Done, I'll add a how to post pictures section on the photo albums page. Attachments:

Why the big difference in fees Adam? Surely those gaining entry through qualifiers should pay the same as those who qualify on merit?

I think its because the top 8 are seeded and enter the tournament at a later stage than the qualifiers. They have to play less pool to win...
Also cheap qualifying = more entries. As the other regions tours are more established (compared to ours) the top players will have won a bit more money too so will already have won their entry fees playing in tour events.
I hope that makes sense!

The top 8 seeds that qualify for the Scottish Singles are as follows:
1 Peter Fyffe (confirmed) 2 Raymond MacKenzie (confirmed) 3 Neil Simpson (can't make it) replaced by no9 in rankings Alan Mair 4 Adam Wood (confirmed) 5 Adam MacLeod (confirmed) 6 Martin Hendry (confirmed) 7 Ryan McIntosh (confirmed) 8 Susan Collins (can't make it) replaced by joint No 10 in rankings Ben Royan
Once I have heard from these guys I can tell the SEPF and we can get qualifiers on the go for players who would like to attend but haven't made it automatically.
Any questions let me know.
Adam.
