Forming a Region 4 Committee

Hi folks, as you may know Brad is unfortunately unable to commit to running the SEPF region 4 tour ...thanks to Brad and all who have helped over the last year.

If we want to continue having these events I would suggest we are going to have to look at forming a small committee to help organize and run the events and region 4 as a whole.

There are already a few of us who are willing to help but ideally we would want a few more volunteers. We are not talking about having to give up hours of your time, it would be mainly on the actual day taking in fees, helping with the draw sorting out prize money etc and possibly attending the odd meeting.

If anyone feels they would like to help please leave your name on here the EDPL facebook page(it may even be an idea to create a separate Region 4 page as the other regions have done)or I can be contacted on 07771 647464 or [e-mail]

If we could possibly get a few names together for the beginning of January we could set the ball rolling for next years tour.

In addition to this I have been asked by John Hay (pool referee) from Aberdeen to ask if there are any interested parties who would be willing to learn a bit more about refereeing and I think sit a refereeing exam. This would not only be beneficial to the individual and our region but I believe also could lead to the opportunity of refereeing at larger national events....again anyone interested in that please get in touch. He is willing to come through to Elgin, I am unsure of any cost implications at this point but will find out and leave further details.

Hopefully we can keep the tour going and keep up the good work of Adam and Brad and make it as good as it possibly can be, I have been assured that next year all the results and rankings will be updated regularly...........we even managed to procure Trendy's elusive photo cd from the SEPF at the weekend ! lol

Have you had any volunteers for this Raymond? I think it's important that Keith play their part too, surely some of the lads over there will help out as Flo and Trendy did for their event last year.

No-one has contacted me since I asked for help on here but I have spoken to a few players over the last few weeks and if I were to call a meeting I would be confident in getting at least 5-6 people to attend. So yes there are some willing volunteers but more are certainly welcome.

Totally agree with your comments about the Keith lads....have already spoke to Flo briefly and will speak to one or two others.

Would like to sort a meeting out in early January as the provisional date for the first event as suggested by the SEPF is Sat 19th January which does not give us much time. I simply don't have the time before that although I will start getting things moving during the holidays.

I would really like to get some input on where we should hold this years events, for me there are only really three options Bowl, Commercial Keith and the Chieftain with the latter being the controversial option which seems to split opinions.

One thing which I am reluctant to do is have a venue where the responsibility for collecting, transporting and setting up tables and then returning them afterwards falls on us as it did last year on a couple of occasions.....so if any other venue such as the City Club wants to host an event they would ideally have to supply tables themselves.....just my personal opinion.

And just to clarify the date mentioned above is at the moment PROVISIONAL....from our point of view early February would be more practical.

I said last year that in my opinion we should have three events at Bowl and three at Commercial. They are the only venues with enough tables already in situ. Just me thoughts though! Forres haven't affiliated to SEPF and couldn't find a confirmed venue last year.

Hopefully we will all be able to get together early in the new year and decide all this at some point. Only thing I would say is I would like to have all 6 venues confirmed before the first tour so that everyone knows whats what.
