Brad is this what you refer too mate. Great point Alan for me i would suggest he would be placed on the tour and not allowed as you say the easy payday. The whole idea of the tour is to have the best playing the best and being used for national selection. I think the best way forward would to have a rep or more from each region to get round a table and select the tour members but again thats down to you folks. As you and i have spoke about before mate the SEPF is about all our members and i for one would like to see the grassroot players getting nice trophies and some dosh.
Brad just like to point out mate that this tour will go ahead and no player will be barred for their preference. i would add that players will not be able to play in both. I hope this makes it clear.

dont know if im getting the wrong idea here or not. I personally dont like the idea of playing on a regional tour without the big names, as a less experianced, less talented player i love playing against these guys, its what makes players like myself better playing against the likes of tony, adam, andrew, neil etc. i would find it less of an achievement if on a tour i got to the latter stages, allbeit there would be a better chance without those 'international class' players i personally would rather the challenge of maybe one day competing with these guys

Spoke to Mike yesterday Garey and said exactly that. Bottom line is: No one will be forced onto National Tour if they don't want to, you can only play on one tour, however, I've suggested that you can enter one national Tour as a 'taster' like the IPA are doing this year.
Hopefully that'll mean that when they come to Inverness, some of our lot who can't justify the expense of committing to the National Tour can still atttend an event and see if it's worth their while signing up the following year. It would also help the Nat Tour keep numbers up as there'll inevitably be folk from down South who don't go to Inverness.
Apparently in a couple of weeks the organisers will be having a meeting to discuss all the feedback they've had from around the country so keep it coming in the meanwhile.

Because all these top players from Aberdeen and beyond have years of experience at a higher level than us we are constantly at a disadvantage when we play them. The same thing could affect a regional tour if the top players only play at national level.

Some feedback for you lads. It seems that the general consensus would allow players to play in both regional and national tours. what do you guys think.

like lads, am fairly new to all this but feel another opinion will help organisers make sensible and beneficial decisions to all levels of pool player. for a start i reckon banning the so cald best players at regional level is wrong, i feel playing against the best improves and raises your game, even being able to sit and watch matches between big name has improved my knowledge and understanding of the rules and shots. like we have seen in region 4 already this year, huge improvent in many players, big shocks, brilliant matches, this is hugely down to the fact that lesser players can have the chance to learn and play against the best!! i love the idea of having a chance to play in a national tour, where the level again is raised great idea, the more interest we can get in region 4 the better.

Yes playing on both for those interested is the way forward. Not sure how many you will get on the national tour at £25 a pop per event but at least the option will be there for anyone interested.

I think this is moving in the right direction. We have a great tour here in Region 4......39 entries may not seem like a lot on saturday but at the height of our so called summer I think its pretty good. Would be great shame to jeapordise that.
Having thought about the National tour I think having to shell out £ 150 up front for 6 nationwide events and having your local events taken away is unacceptable and unpopular with most players in our region. Leaving players with the choice is definitly a better move.

just had a wee scan of that are those venues confirmed? so that would mean that region 4 has again been overlooked for one of the majors (scottish masters or scottish singles)?
