Just remember the best players don't necessarily make the best team players! Take Joey Barton as an example!
I'd back a selection committee again but as I'm not going, i don't think it's really my place to say. maybe speak to Neill and Fyffee again and see what they're doing? Don't feel pressured to pick players who have performed well if you think they'll have a negative effect on the team as a whole though!

Ok we now seem to be making progress !
We had a meeting tonight to make the draw for the cups and we also discussed the Interleague.
As last year it was decided that a selection committee is the way to go and Neill Simpson, Andrew Cormie, possibly Peter Fyffe and myself will select the teams.
We will endeavor to do this as fairly as possible and hopefully end up with 2 or maybe even 3 strong teams.
With the imminent start of the league season we can generate even more interest. If any of you know anyone else who wants to play please post on here or text me on 07771647464 and I will add their name.
If anyone wants any information about cost etc please just ask ! we will do our best to give you accurate answers
The more who go the cheaper it is for everyone
Interleague 2012 Garey Steele Graham Scales Alan Mair Raymond Mackenzie Chris Ross Kieran Wood Alan Bonnyman (Keith) Neill Simpson Mike More Andrew Cormie Ben Royan

See Aberdeen who are not an affiliated league are getting their player in the Interleague after all. Without paying the affiliation fee might I add.
Seems like a Regional Tour can enter players so what's the point in paying £50 affiliation if the same players can play via the tour? nter?
Nice to see what was decided at the SEPF AGM has been quickly forgotten! Double standards big time!

Brad
Team or teams can be selected from your Region 4 Tour.
No double standands mate below is a quote from the constitution that you wrote.
34) "Membership of the SEPF is at different levels.
LEVEL ONE: Paid up, affiliated pool leagues and regions. Entitled to vote at the SEPF AGM. Entitled to enter teams into SEPF team competitions"
This means that you guys could have a mixture of Elgin,Keith, Lossie,Buckie etc etc players as long as they are affiliated to R4 Tour.

Yes Derek but the same constitution says only affiliated leagues can enter the Interleague. I drafted the constitution which was passed at the AGM. It differs somewhat from the version which is displayed now though!

Double standards big time! hate to say i told you so Brad, but i did suggest this, i think on the ADPL website to yourself, this would be the case many months ago when there was arguements going on with the SEPF and ADPL over affiliation. Is it correct, i'd probably have to say probably no if want it a true interleague event, but its never been that for several years now unfortunatly with SEPF teams, Uni teams, etc.

I know mate, if I'd had it my way only league teams would be allowed in. That is the ONLY benefit of affiliating and this has just proved that while regional teams can enter, there really is no point in the league paying 50 quid. No doubt brocher will say it's being changed for next year but that's exactly what he said for this year!
I hear SEPF aren't attending the ADPL meeting either Martin? Poor judgement on their behalf I feel. Ross McInnes and Davie Duncan will be coming up to ours so very suprised the SEPF don't want to come along and try to retain/regain their two biggest leagues by miles!

I would just like to say what an absolute pleasure it has been to represent Elgin at this years interleague. A superb effort by all involved with the A team with Some tremendous performances. I think a special mention is deserved for our captain Andrew cormie. A gentleman and a scholar and the main reason behind an inspired performance.

Glad you enjoyed your first interleague experience graham, and thanks very much for your kind words. When i was offered the captaincy, i'm going to be honest....i was rather apprehensive about accepting and a more than a few said i'd be stupid to take it on. Well i'm glad i did, and glad the cynics were wrong. The lads showed brilliant team spirit the whole weekend, even when i had to leave lads out of games, bearing in mind they'd all paid a fair bit of cash and took time off work for it, but not once did anyone grumble. Anyone sitting out got right behind the team. Aside from the great crack and banter (too many stories to recite on here haha), we gave a good account of ourselves when to be honest not many folk gave us any hope. Playing Styx, Boddam & Lockerbie and handing them there arses was cracking results. Just fell that bit short against Aberdeen A but hey ho, we gave it our best and hopefully within a few years we can get closer to this calibre of player. I can only speak for our own team, but i'm glad we played some steady stuff and took out the finished when required (punish um NNNNNeil quote bondies hahaha) Thanks again to all the lads for there effort and support over the weekend, maybe one day a few years down the line, i'll be fortunate enough to be captain again. But that can wait a few years And yes.....you do indeed get that with the big jobs

I'm really glad to hear all the good comments about team spirit and how much you enjoyed it. A few players have singled out a couple of individuals who performed excellently but I'd like to thank everyone in the A team for going down to Pettycur and doing the League proud. Really glad to hear that the Captain was respected and had the full trust of all the players.
Well done all of you.
Also, Cormie, best get thinking about Captaining next year from what some of the lads are saying!
