Myself and Brad were talking about a golf day out yesterday for the pool league players, before we go and book anything was going to see if there is any interest in this, not sure whether it would be played like a texas scramble, in your pool teams or singles. But just wanted to get the ball rolling as a possible idea over the summer

There was a lot of interest on Saturday Garey, not just from Golfers but from complete novices like me.
I know Garmouthare good for this sort of thing and the way you explained the Texas Scramble system, I think that would be good to make it a bit more competitive.
Any chance you could explain it again on here for thise who have never heard of it? We could do it in pool teams if people want? Obviously, wouldn't be a problem combining left over players etc to make up numbers.

A Texas scramble is a team event. 4 players per team. Everyone drives at every he. You then pick the best drive at the hole and all 4 of you play a shot from this spot. Same again, pick the best 2nd shot and all play from there. This is continued until the ball is in the hole. (There must be 3 drives at least per person picked though. So you usually try to get the weaker players in your team drives in early, even if it's not the best at the hole, kain? To save your worst player needing 3 good drives with 3 hole to go! That's pretty much it tbh...
