Following the success of the first event, the second competition in the calendar will take place on Saturday 14th April, at the Commercial Hotel in Keith. There will be six tables in the venue on the day, so we may have to cap entries at 64, first come first served. As for the last competition, we will do the draw the night before the comp. Now taking names, please add here, the SEPF forum, text or email to me. Cheers and good luck. Brad. ADD ME. i think its hugely unfair how 80 plus entries can be accepted for the first event then cap the second at 64. surely this cant be done?

Tony please don't start criticising things from the word go! We had a huge hall, a large amount of tables for the City Club and unlimited time. We can't do that everywhere and it isn't an option to have eveything in the City Club.
It has to be done, and it has already happened in previous seasons
Also, previous year's comps have proven that the entry field will drop for the second event. I'd say 55-60 at best (but please prove me wrong!).

Is it top 8 seeded or top 16 this year? Also is it best 5 out of 6 results that count for the rankings brad?

Top 8 seeded and all events count towards rankings, as do the SEPF Scottish Singles and Masters. (Effectively eight tournaments).

Im not crtiticising. yes you may only get 50 odd entrants but if there was more than 64 i think it is very unfair on those who miss out. It really shouldnt happen.

I know Tony but without a pool hall we will always be limited by the amount of tables we can squeeze into a venue. Due to licensing rules we can't have everything at the City Club, although that is a discussion point for the future. Also, with Keith onboard and Forres looking to join them, its only fair to spread things around.
We've all said it a hundred times, Elgin needs a pool hall with 8 plus top quality, professionally maintained tables!
It would be a great business venture for someone willing to put pay per hour 8 ball tables in available all day long every night of the week.

Brad can you add Bob Laughlan and Gus Clark to the list please.
For what its worth I don't see the point of worrying about a capped entry list at this moment..........wait and see how many entries there actually are and deal with it then.
However everyone paid their affiliation at the last event with the expectation that this would allow them to play in ALL events......would be unfair if they couldn't play due to the event being full. Having said that I totally understand the problems we have regarding suitably sized venues.
Has anyone else ever thought that our region may now just be a bit on the large side ? Imagine if there were substantial entries from Nairn, Inverness or any other pool league which falls within our area. How would we cope with potentially 100 plus entries ?This could be a problem in the near future particularly when there are leagues within Moray itself who may soon be switching to WR.

I think if there were that many entries we would need to look at established venues in our region that could handle events that big. So you are looking at Inverness for that and as many venues that would be prepared to hire in 10 plus tables. It would be impossible to go to the bowl or commercial and you would be looking at hotels or large halls.

Your point about the guys all paying their affiliation to entitle them access to all 6 is a fair one. Not sure how to answer that to be honest. Especially with all 6 events counting towards rankings...

Please remove Neil Owen.
Also, I heard that there was gonna be at least 1 6 x 3 table at this event like the last time. Is this the case or is there going to be more than one?
