Hi all,
Opinions needed.
Hopefully, we will be able to get all 84 players on the entry list playing in the tour event. In order to do this, the prelim round will have to be best of five frames with the last 64 being the usual best of seven.
I need to know what your opinions on this are?
We're hoping to have seven tables available on the day and we should cut down gaps between games by having the next players on each table displayed on a big screen.
Brad.

Also, if anyone isn't going to play, please remove your name from the list by PMing or texting me. If you don't notify me you'll be entered into the draw and will be held liable for the £10 entry fee which must be paid before entering any other SEPF events.

I think it would be great to get this many players in a tour event and playing best of 5 in a prelim to keep events over one day is is worthwhile trade off - especially if there are 7/8 tables in operation. As I have said previously, a one day event is preferable to me and I am certainly happy to run the risk of having to play a best of 5 in a prelim to keep it that way.
Only problems I can see occurring are at later events if interest remains high and we have significantly less tables available.

Already arranged with Keith to have more tables available for tour event two and we might look at advance payment of entry fees to guarantee numbers so we can plan better next time. Shouldn't be hard for people to pay a tenner at least seven days in advance, either in person or by bank transfer. I agree completely with your sentiments Adam.

I Think its great that we have so many entries for the first tour event . I also think Brad is doing the right thing by trying to ensure that no-one is turned away. However being realistic there probably will be delays for some players even getting their first game and then between subsequent early rounds. This is unavoidable and basically down to being victims of our own success. Extra tables will definitly help, as will a best of 5 prelim round but personally I would wait and see what the actual turnout is on the day before setting the length of games in stone. The idea of getting the entry fee's in prior to events is a good one and should ensure everyone turns up. A very nice problem to have though ! Canna wait !

The only problem with waiting for everyone to show is that we won't make the draw or kick off until quite some time after the advertised kick off. It would be good (almost necessary) to do the draw an hour or so before the kick off so we can start at 11AM prompt.

Fair enough Brad.
Could the draw be made the night before ? That would speed things up on the day. Folk could be given plenty of notice that unless you hear otherwise by say 6pm on Friday night then you are entered in the draw and liable for entry/affiliation fees.
Having said that I would expect the vast majority to make an appearance.
Just an idea !

Yep will go ahead with that Ray. Draw made on Fri night in City Club while we're setting up tables... If I don't hear from players by 6pm Fri then they're in the draw and due entry fee. City Club have licence to serve til 1am but will remain open as long as it takes to finish comp. Good stuff, therefore all players on list are in up to number 86 if we get that far.
Any word from Shakey?

Yes I think that folk should know the score now after 2 years of tours and names in and draws in advance are both good ideas. Is it possible to get timings for matches so that hanging about can be avoided?

I was thinking about the Keith tour. Could you split that between the royal and the comm each with 4 tables?

Com have five tables, will get entries in advance again and see if we need to use second venue. Flo's all over it! Yep approx timings will be published with draw, lateness won't be tolerated though and will want people there around an hour before their game.
