Looking at the weather outside I doubt there'll be many travelling from outside Elgin tomorrow (except the usual suspects from Lhanbryde & Burghead) shame like.
I'm not snowed in yet so I'm off to the Bonnie if anyone fancies a knockroond?

Well I hope it's not too bad as I had a call from some Keith players. Hopefully the 5 of them will make it thru like!

Well done to Neil Simpson on winning the final tour event of 2010. He beat yours truly in the final, a comfortable 6 - 3 the scoreline. I was really pleased with the turnout and delighted to see new faces coming along to see what its all about.
Rankings for Scotland Squad place, trial places and report will appear on the SEPF shortly.
One small issue must, however, be highlighted. As the day wears on at these events, it becomes easier to partake in a few shandies etc and whilst this is usually handled well by most, there is a minority that continue to take it a bit too far. As a result, I will be I will introducing acceptable behaviour criteria for next years tour.
I will expect every player to agree before joining. We should all be able to have fun and enjoy our sport, that is paramount.

I agree with that Adam, it must have been slightly distracting when trying to play your final! Also I think referees will be required next year, maybe not early on but certainly when it gets down to the latter stages.
Well done Neil!
Adam, do you know yet if Neil pipped Fyffee for top spot? I think everyone is eager to find out!

Adam, do you know yet if Neil pipped Fyffee for top spot? I think everyone is eager to find out! My maths are garbage and I'm not sure of the points allocation for prelims. Mark Gravener runs the SEPF website and does the calculations, has done for years with the other tours too. Everytime I have done them he has had to correct them... I'm pretty sure Peter has done enough to secure top spot, the 42 point swing Neil requires is very unlikely surely...

I agree with that Adam, it must have been slightly distracting when trying to play your final! It was and its not the first time that I or other players have been disturbed during matches. We all accept a bit of banter and realise that we're not playing in the crucible (dreams, dreams) but theres no need for aggro etc!

Well done to my whiter bud and top doubles partner Adam Mac for reaching the final but most of all for all his hard work in the organising and running of these tour events, gr8 job mate.

I'll second that Woody, thanks to 'Mis-Cue' Macleod for all his hard work, the tour is one of the best things to happen round here for a while and I can't believe you've managed to set it up and run it entirely on your own with no benefit to yourself. Cheers mate!
Thanks also to everyone who has taken part in the four events, it's great to see lads and lasses of different ages and varying abilities try out and have a laugh doing it.
Good luck to those of you who are off to Aberdeen for the national trials next week!

I suppose I should third Brad and Woody's sentiments ! In my opinion, the 4 tour events this year have given local players a renewed enthusiasm for our game aswell as giving us an opportunity to compete at a higher level, a level which we are at the very least capable of competing in. Without wishing to embarrass Adam, we are lucky to have him and his commitment/dedication to pool in our area and his efforts are certainly appreciated. He is a right Smart Alec at times though !! cheers

Cheers folks. I really appreciate your comments of support and thanks. Important for you all to remember that I set these tournies up with the intention of winning all the comps, under the broad umbrella of growing the game! Unfortunately, the first bit has not panned out, didn't expect you all to be that good!! ;D He is a right Smart Alec at times though !! Especially you Raymond!!

Number one in Bishopmil, i heard your not number 1 in your hoose brad hahaha jokes. Raymonds got it spot on it has given everyone a renewed enthusiasm . I had lost mine and was getting rather bored with the game until basically most of Elgin got involved with all these events. Looking forward to next years tour and maybe even some region 4 singles/doubles/masters etc.
