The SPA has announced that they are going to make it compulsary for spotted cue balls to be used in all their major competitions.
What's your general opinion on that? We use them at the Seaforth Club and we used them at one of the tour events last year. I personally really like them as it highlights any unintentional spin and gives you a better understanding of how the cue ball reacts.
It'll also be good for when the Elgin Singles final is live on Sky Sports....

I actually quite liked using those cue balls.......although I dont know why ! Personally don't see the point of making it compulsory though. You dont't have a 'job lot' you need rid of do you ??

Nah mate, they're not exactly cheap either!
Wouldn't mind seeing them in the national events/tours though.

i got to say i do prefer the whites with the spotted marks on them, i feel it highlights the amount of spin and reaction and teaches you more about control because you can actually see the marks moving in different directions depending the spiin,
your right about the expense tho think they come in around £20+ each or something but def worth it in the long run.

Was just looking on ebay and you can get the Aramith ones from £15. Still a damn sight more than the plain ones.
Can you not get a job lot on trade discount Ray? Half a dozen for the tour maybe?
