ELGIN AND DISTRICT POOL LEAGUE
AGM AGENDA
6TH JUNE 2012
BONNIE EARL
1. ELECTION OF COMMITTEE
RESTANDING:
Chairman/Treasurer: Raymond Mackenzie
Secretary: Brad Wight
Match Secretary: Garey Steele
Committee Member: Debby Greig
Committee Member: Ian McLennan
Committee Member: John Kinnaird
PROPOSED:
Press Officer 1: Tony Donovan
Press Officer 2: Volunteer required, preferably a tour player
2. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS AGM
3. CONSTITUTION
No changes proposed
4. FINANCIAL REPORT
5. ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEES & PAYMENT DEADLINE
Same as last year: £35 for existing team, £40 for new.
Note, Singles and Doubles to increase from £4 to £5 to cover rising costs of trophies
Payment deadline of: FRIDAY JULY 27th
League to run along same format and dates as last season if no objections
6. PLAYER OF THE SEASON
Continue in Division One only or extend to other divisions. Captains to email in photo of scorecard as most Div One teams did last season
7. PROPOSALS
1) To stagger the three doubles games in amongst the singles games - A Bonnyman.
2) Introduction of referees - A Macleod, T McCallion, B Wight.
One idea would be to toss a coin before the match to decide which team will referee the first frame and alternate after that. Another would be the winner of each game referees the next. Referee's decision would be final in all cases
3) Proposal that the league accepts the offer from the Scottish Pool Association (SPA) to affiliate for one season without altering the league rules - A Macleod
Affiliating to the SPA would open up the amount of competitions available to league players but would disqualify the league from entering the SEPF Interleague. There are, however, two similar events ran by the SPA. SPA events are played to blackball rules (basically 'old' league rules with the hitting the cushion rule), and should the league decide to affiliate for a second season, the league would then have to change to blackball rules on Wednesday nights. SEPF events would still be open to individuals, and for one season only the SPA would not ban anyone for entering an SEPF event.
Adam Macleod to discuss further
8. ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
1) To stress that the web forum is the primary means of communication within the league. All teams have registered members and all players should be encouraged to check online for fixtures and news.
