THE SEPF IS 15 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR
To celebrate this anniversary we plan to hold a FUN Pool Weekend in August.
As well as the Competitions below there will be 15 to 1 & Speed Pool Challenges.
SEPF 15 Year Regional Challenge
£2000 PRIZE FUND + Trophies From same sponsor as Scottish Open Trophies. Thanks to them and Mike McDonald for organising.
Date 13th/14th August
The SEPF in conjunction with Rileys would like to announce a new event to this years Calendar.
The SEPF 15 Year Regional Challenge will consist of an 8 man team Event and a singles event over the
Same weekend as the National Events(U18,U21,O50 and Ladies) at Rileys Bridge Place.
Singles Event will be handicapped. Handicaps set by a committee appointed by the SEPF.
Team Event will be like a Ryder Cup Format.
2 x Doubles
2 x Scotch Doubles
8 x Singles
All regions are invited to submit a minimum of 2 teams.
This would give 64 players in total.
Entry into the team and singles event will be £30 per head total and payable to your regional contact.
If interested in competing please post here.
Event will not be limited to 64 players so feel free to post on this thread:
I will update post with interested names as they appear on here.
It is up to the individual regions to select their teams.
This is a great chance to show the rest of the regions what we can do!
Maybe we cud hold trials for this or even base it on tour standings nearer august?
What yous think?

I seen this aswell, think its a good idea. The trouble as far as I am concerned is I will still be on holiday when it takes place. Are there not tour events the previous two weekends also ?
As I say it sounds good but I will have to be counted out for consideration.

Was speaking to Mike about this the other day. It sounds like a cracking idea. Fairly informal and a chance to have a good weekend out. At £30 a man for all competitions you can't really complain. I'll definitely be going.

I was speaking to Ben yesterday re this and he seemed pretty keen. Think Cormie will be up for it as well.
Put all our names forward at this time please Tony/Brad. Like everyone else will have to check diary to see if it conflicts with anything else.

That's a night I'll never forget Shakey! Ha ha!
Best see how many names we get first! I think using rankings is a good shout Tony but not sure if we'll be able to get 16 committed players during the summer hols?

List of teams that have showed definite interest:
Aberdeen 3 (minimum) Fraserburgh 2 or 3 Elgin 1 Fife (probably a couple) Borders 2 (minimum) Boddam & Cruden 1 Oban 1 Cumbria 1 Somerset 2 Devon 1 Cornwall 1 North of England 2 England Legends 1 North East England 2 Merseyside 2 Ireland 1 SEPF Old Timers 1 Ireland Old Timers 1
Looks like this is going to be a hell of a weekend especially with players putting in the effort to travel from all over England, Wales and Ireland. Anyone else interested?
Two Aberdeen venues are booked for this; Rileys and Shooters giving at least 20 tables.

There is a deadline for this event as they've had to cap it at twenty teams.
All teams must be paid up by end of May. £30 per man in an 8 man team.
Let's drum up a bit of support for this, can you speak to your mates and see if any of them fancy it? I'd hope we can get at least one 8 man team down.

Brad/ Just noticed that Alan Mair aka 'Shakey' is not mentioned on our team list on the ADPL website? He will be most upset if he misses out on the lap dancing etc ;D I though it was pole dancing ? With the Shakester bustin most of the moves !................. but then I did go home early that night , gawd knows what went on after I left !

Brad/ Am sure we could probably get Carl Morris, everyones best pal Oly or even Tony's gambling pal....what's his name....oh yes Mr potts. Come on mate sort it out, your the only decent player that's named in the line up at the moment lol!! haha if we have a spare grand then im sure Mr Potts could make an appearance? Imagine we were mega rich and got potts, morris, davis, hill etc playing for region 4 lol i think the others would be rather hacked off!

Could you advertise this to the other leagues in our region Brad? You never know...

Until they affiliate they won't be able to enter mate. It's an invitational tournament not an open. Players on the regional tour or in affiliated leagues are welcome to put teams together, I believe Keith have been emailed as prospective members.

I've decided to pull out of this competition as I have too many other things going on at that time, so would be grateful if you could take my name off the list please.
Best of luck to all the guys that attend.

Brad/
Did mention to you on Friday that I might be interested in going along to this mate. However, I've decided not to play in any pool events this year apart from tour events and Highland Classic, so it remains a NO from me.

OK, no probs Woody.
Can I point out to a few other players who have provided the excuse that it's a poor team and they don't want to go because they don't stand a chance, that if all of you who have said this had committed, there'd have been a bloody strong team!
Can the lads who are still interested ask around and see if any of their team mates fancy a trip? It's not just a team event. Singles and a random draw Scotch Doubles also, as well as speed pool.

This is a last call for this competition. I'll be going through and playing for someone else if we don't manage to get a team of eight from the EDPL. Apart from Stuart and Shakey I don't have any definite names down anymore (not sure about Andrew?).
Please let me know either by text or by posting here by Wednesday if anyone else fancies it.

Team so far:
1) Brad Wight 2) Tony McCallion 3) Alan Mair 4) Kieran Wood (probable) 5) Susan Collins 6) Robert MacDonald (Dobby)
